CarepathRx Specialty Pharmacy & Infusion Solutions Chief Operating Officer David Benedict, BS Pharm, Pharm D, BCPS, provides direct oversight of all clinical and operations for every CarepathRx partner. Mr. Benedict oversees the day-to-day operation of UPMC Chartwell, including clinical education, durable medical equipment, enteral, home infusion, medication safety, nursing, specialty pharmacy, supply chain, and transportation. He has extensive pharmacy operations experience, including more than 27 years building clinical patient programs and ensuring operations has the capacity to drive successful outcomes.

Mr. Benedict works with his team of expert professionals to acquire newly released medications and hospital-based opportunities, while seeking the highest quality patient care to drive solutions into alternative administration sites. He places special emphasis on securing the latest, state-of-the-art pharmaceutical technology to drive best practices in patient communications, build environmental systems, support clinical pathways, streamline workflows, and provide the most sterile compounding facilities.

Mr. Benedict is a voting member of both the UPMC Corporate and Health Plan Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committees. He also serves as a member of the UPMC Nutritional Support Subcommittee, UPMC Infections Disease Subcommittee, and National Home Infusion Association (NHIA) Leadership Forum. He is a member of the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists, the American Society for Parenteral & Enteral Nutrition (Greater Pittsburgh Chapter), and NHIA.

He utilizes his past experiences as a hospital-based clinician and adjunct professor at the Duquesne University School of Pharmacy and the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy to provide a learning culture at CarepathRx. He is as graduate of Duquesne University.
